The Importance of Your OS

I’ve always been Mac and PC savvy – never had a problem working on Windows 95 or System 7 etc… I never really dug to deep into linux though. Mavericks slowed my 2009 17 Macbook Pro to a halt. So… I started to wonder if there was a nice lightweight linux distro out there that I could use.

After much trial and error. Porteus is by far the winner. Only takes about 15-20 minutes to get up and running, it’s simple and blazing fast. It runs off a usb stick so you can boot your setup anywhere. The only downside seems to be it hasn’t been updated in about a year. Hopefully it’s not dead.
